Tim Fordon was full of praise for his side after Beverley Town Cricket Club thirds eased to a 72 run win over Sutton at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Batting first, Beverley struggled to get going before Graham Taylor and Paul Best help steady the innings as they went on to post a score of 162/9.

Known for their batting, Sutton seemed confident that they could reach the target set and continue to put pressure on the sides above them in the table.

Sutton, who are placed near to top end of the table were unable to get close to Beverley as they managed just 90 runs in reply.

Speaking to HU17.net, Fordon said;

“This was just a good solid performance all round both with and without the bat. Not only did we come up with the runs after a difficult start we bowled very well and took our catches.”

“Everything just clicked for us in the game, we made the right decisions along with a superb performance to secure a maximum 30 points.”

“There were too many good performances to single any one player out. I am really proud of all them in the way they played to secure what is a very good win for us and the club.”

“However, Charlie Fish was just one of many highlights for us, he took two wickets for just two runs from his seven over spell.”

“Currently we are going through a good run of form and this win sets us up nicely for our next match which is again at home against Kirkella, who are just below us in the league.”
