Carers and the cared for are invited to gather in the majestic surroundings of Beverley Minster on Wednesday, 5 July at 1pm for the annual Carers Celebration Service.
The popular event, which is organised by the East Riding Carers Advisory Group in partnership with the East Riding Carers Support Service, is an uplifting and joyful celebration of the invaluable role of carers.
Councillor Richard Harrap, portfolio holder for adult and carer services, said:
“This event is a fantastic way of bringing together carers from across the East Riding, giving everyone the opportunity to share information, meet like-minded people and celebrate the invaluable contribution that carers make to the lives of those they care for and society as a whole.”
All carers past and present are welcome to attend the service together with the person/s they care for, friends, neighbours or relatives.
The service will feature music, hymns, readings and prayers and at the end there will be an opportunity to light a candle for a loved one.
Refreshments will be served afterwards at the rear of the Minster giving everyone the chance to socialise.
There is good wheelchair access in and around Beverley Minster. Car parking for Blue Badge holders is available in the Minster car park. Please be seated for 12.50pm.
