This week saw the first stage of the renovation of Beverley Skate Park with the installation of a new T-Block.
The funding for the project, from the East Riding Youth Capital Fund, was applied for by users of the skate park in partnership with Beverley Open Doors Community Project and East Riding Detach Team.
Plans for new fencing are also underway and should be completed within the next few weeks with a youth shelter being another potential addition.
“The users of the Skate Park have been crying out for some renovation work for well over year.
We’re delighted to have worked alongside the East Riding Detach Team in enabling the young people to write and deliver a successful project to ensure that the Skatepark is safe, entertaining and meeting the needs and demands of users.”

Also, look out for the long awaited Youth Shelter.
This is a project that myself and Cllr Shores started over 2 years ago. Now thanks to Ali, we should be finally dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s on the scheme!
Well done Ali, thanks for all your hard work.

Funny but of course I may be wrong, however I remember the Youth Shelter idea as being Mathew Snowdens, he brought it up as Chair of the Beverley and Rural NAT
Only just seen your post david. Matt may have had the idea indeed, but we started the ball rolling in 2007…yes it’s taken that long. We had lots of support from the NAT once Matt was Chair, so with all partners in agreement, just shows what can be done when we work together.
