PCSOs from Humberside Police will be visiting schools and colleges to promote Lifestyle 2018, an incentive open to people aged 10-18 who want to make a difference in the community.

Lifestyle 2018 is made  possible by the kind support of sponsors and  gives young people the chance to not only do something positive during the summer break, but also a chance to win some fantastic prizes.

Chief Constable Lee Freeman commenting on the Lifestyle 2018 said;

“Lifestyle is a really important project and one that I am incredibly proud of. The projects delivered by young people for their communities are very impressive and show what hard work and innovation can achieve. I hope that this year’s Lifestyle will prove equally popular.”

A good example of project from last summer was one by Poppy Kitchen and Florence Hewitt who did a number of activities to raise money to buy friendship benches for their school.

In all the girls raised £850 by under taking a bike ride and holding a bun sale. The money was used to pay for friendship benches that were installed in the playground at St Mary’s Primary School in Beverley.

Lifestyle initiative aims to promote positivity, teamwork and community ownership. Taking place during the summer holiday, teams of young people aged 10 to 18 years old are encouraged to make a difference by taking part in community activities.

Now in its 29th year, registration for Humberside Police’s Lifestyle 2018 will open later this month.

Prizes on offer for the most innovative and successful projects undertaken include, a week in South Africa, a trip to Disneyland Paris, UK adventure holidays, days out at Flamingo Land and Tockwith Racecourse plus many more.
