Beverley Town Cricket Club under-13s fell just two runs short of what would have been a memorable victory over Driffield at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Chasing 92 for victory against their rivals from the Wolds, Beverley were bowled out for 90 with just two balls to go in the final over.
Batting first, Driffield racked up 91-8 off their 20 overs, Luke Clarke top scoring with an unbeaten 28 and G Drewery hitting an unbeaten 26.
In reply, no one really got on top of the Driffield bowling, but excellent contributions from Kieron Simpson (16), Harvey Thompson (15) and Josh Newby (13no) almost took Beverley to victory.
