Help For Heroes Sponsored Walk

Staff, family and friends from Willerby and Kirkella Neighbourhood Policing Team will be taking part in a sponsored walk from Queens Gardens Police Station in Hull to Beverley Police Station, New Walk, Beverley on Saturday 29th May.

The 10 mile walk will be in aid of Help the Heroes charity and officers will be rattling their buckets throughout the walk, collecting for the charity.

As well as the officers taking part, sponsorship has been sought from a number of small businesses including; Bell Truck Services of Plaxton Bridge and Love Letters of Anlaby, who have contributed money towards the charity and donated bottles of water and T-shirts for the walkers to use.

PC Andy White from Kirkella NPT said:

“We decided to do this walk in aid of Help the Heroes because we want to show our support to the troops who are fighting on our behalf.

“Help the Heroes raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of our country.

“These ordinary people who do extraordinary things and some of them are living with the consequences of their service for life. We may not be able to prevent our soldiers from being wounded, but together we can help them get better.

“If you would like to take part in the sponsored walk or show your support, please come down and follow us or throw some coins in our buckets on route.

The sponsored walk will start from Queens Gardens at 1130hrs on Saturday 29 May and will finish approximately 1730hrs at Beverley Police Station.

The 10 mile route taken on the day will be from Queens Gardens Police Station, Beverley Road Hull, into Beverley Town Centre, finishing at Beverley Police Station, New Walk , Beverley.
