Dove House Shops Launch Urgent Stock Appeal

Dove House Hospice is launching an urgent appeal for stock.

Since reopening in December 2020, Dove House’s shops were inundated with donations but donations have now slowed and the shops are running extremely low on stock.

The charity is now urgently appealing for any good quality items of women’s, men’s and children’s clothing especially good quality winter clothing, toys, homeware and electricals to help raise vital funds for the hospice.

Money raised at the hospice’s 36 retail stores goes directly back into funding the fantastic care Dove House is renowned for providing to local people.  And by donating your unwanted items, you are supporting people in your community who need hospice care.

Also, donations can be gift aided which means the hospice can claim 25p for every £1 of the sale price of donated goods, at no extra cost to you which makes such a difference to the hospice.

Marisa Haines, Head of Retail had this to say:

“We are incredibly grateful for the many donations we received when we were able to reopen.”

“The generosity of the community ensured we could open up all 36 of our retail shops and we saw an influx of support for the shops which was incredible but we need your help once again.”

“We are thrilled that our shops have been so busy but this now means that we are desperate for donations, especially seasonal items.”

“Usually at this time of year our containers and cages would be full of donations but they are empty. We really hope our community will support us once again.”

The urgent stock appeal week runs to Monday 1st November.

You can donate your unwanted items at Dove House Hospice’s Retail Distribution Centre, Malmo Road, Hull, HU7 0RF between 9am and 4pm.

For smaller donations, you can take them along to your local shop during opening times. To find your local hospice shop visit www.dovehouse.org.uk/shops
