The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will be marked by a fun-packed four-day family event in Hull this June.
As part of the extended bank holiday weekend, the council has published a decision record to allocate funds for the event, which takes place from Thursday 2 – Sunday 5 June.
In celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s 70 years on the throne, Hull’s city centre streets will be decorated with red, white and blue decorations, stages, children’s activities and other family events.
Garry Taylor, Assistant Director for Major Projects, Culture and Place, stated:
“Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, and this extended weekend is a great opportunity for communities across the country to come together to celebrate the historic milestone.
“Across the four days, key areas of the city centre will come to life in true British street-party style and everyone is invited to join the celebrations.
“We will be working closely with partners and stakeholders to offer a huge range of activities and entertainment for all ages, there really will be something for everyone.”
