The Christmas Dinner Project, organised by Pepperells Solicitors has raised £9,500 providing 380 families with a Christmas dinner this year.
The project launched 4 years ago and each year demand for the dinner packs has grown and grown.
With the cost of living rising, individuals facing threats to job security and family budgets squeezed more than ever, Pepperells are delighted to be able to support individuals, couples and families in our area who are struggling to make ends meet, and for some, the promise of a Christmas Dinner just isn’t a reality. Often hard working proud individuals that have fallen on hard times.
Working in partnership with Tescos, local food banks, charities and churches, the Christmas Dinner Project provides families in need with a tasty Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings to prepare themselves at home on Christmas Day, or Boxing Day for single parents who do not have their children on the 25th. The dinner packs are provided to carefully selected recipients who would otherwise have gone without.
Julia Rymer, Marketing Director at Pepperells Solicitors said “We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of this year’s pledges. The business community has come together in force to support us once again. We have received over 130 separate donations with over 50% of donors pledging more than one meal, which is phenomenal.
“Many of us take our Christmas Meals for granted and it has been so heart-warming to be able to organise so many dinners for families in need this year.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to all the business and personal donations that have been received. Without you, we couldn’t make all this possible”
The meals will be making their way through the doors of the carefully selected homes this week, with the help of the Community Champions at Tescos and our local churches and charities, just in time for the big day.
Each dinner pack provides a family with all the trimmings for their festive treats, including Meat, Vegetables, Potatoes, Pigs in Blankets, Christmas Pudding, Mince Pies and Treats for Santa and his reindeer.
