Beverley Racecourse held their final meeting of the season at the Westwood course.
Some of the big names in racing were there, including Paul Hanagan, Ted Durcan, Haley Turner, Kieren Fallon and Joe Fanning. Also at the track was the man responsible for guiding Hull City to the Premiership, former manager Phil Brown.
The 3.30 final feature race of the season, ‘The Violet and Eddie Smith Memorial Conditions Stakes’, was won by 33/1 Tangerine Trees ridden by Tom Evans. Second was Captain Dunne 13/8 with 5/4F Tax Free coming in third.
Beverley Racecourse will host a ‘Pony Racing Day’ on Sunday 3rd October, offering free admission to members of the public. Racing is set return to Beverley in April 2011 with the ‘Spring Into Racing’ event.
