As the children go back to school fully kitted out with new uniforms and a cosy school coat to keep them warm on a chilly morning, it sadly signifies the end of Summer and the onset of Autumn. Mums everywhere will be packing away their summer tops and shorts and looking through the shops to find out what the trends are for the autumn and how they can match up their existing clothes to the new styles.
Well girls there’s good news because this year sees the emergence of the waist. Gone are the baggy tops and hipster jeans and trousers of previous years. Exposed untoned midrifts and muffin tops are a thing of the past. At long last autumn brings us a look that women with curves can embrace.
Autumn sees retro styling bringing back the feminine female lines with a large dash of animal print for that sexy yet sophisticated look. Tailored straight skirts worn with the highest heels possible or full skirts, with a real fifties look, A-line skirts in soft fabric worn with flat brogue type shoes for that town and country feel. Ladies, knee length to calf length, it’s your choice, worn nipped in at the waist and teamed with a fitted jacket for a real vintage feel, skirts are back.
This season’s Louis Vuitton collection pays tribute to the female form. Dresses are fitted at the waist and the asymmetric statement is popular this season. Frilly asymmetrical tops are balanced out by a subdued fitted skirt with accessories kept fuss-free. Dresses should be fitted and flattering to the female form, ruched panels and gathers are very flattering to the more curvaceous figure. Pinstripes are featured this year with stretchy fabrics for that fully fitted tailored look. The ever popular vintage inspired Stop Staring dresses as worn by Paris Hilton and numerous other celebrities shown on image 1 are coming in to their own this year. Every girl should have a dress in their wardrobe that will take them to numerous occasions and events, these dresses have a timeless quality that will never fade from fashion.
Outer wear this autumn is featuring neat, slim-line coats. Camel is available in everything and the coat this year is no exception, available in soft cashmere cut in a military style or as a mackintosh version tied at the waist with a quirky belt. Tweed is also a big hit this year and can be worn with matching ‘deerstalker’ hats, very Sherlock Holmes. Dark navy, pinstripe coats and suits also feature the Sherlock look. The Aviator jacket is red hot this year and can be teamed with the fitted skirt or dress giving an edgy look.
No matter what your size or shape this autumn has a look for you, so paint on your lipstick and curl your hair, and enjoy experimenting with this seasons look; your new image is waiting for you.
