Tribfest Seeks National Recognition

Local music fans have an opportunity to put the put a local music festival onto the national stage. Tribfest, the annual tribute festival has been nominated for three categories within the National UK 2010 Festival Awards which is being held at the O2 Arena in November.

Tribfest is a very successful family festival that grown year by year since the first event at Driffield in 2007 and this year’s event attracted 4000 festival goers to Beverley Polo Club in August. The festival has attracted great feedback over this period with word of mouth recommendations being one of the keys to its growing success.

The festival has been nominated for the Best Small Festival, Best Family Festival and for the Best Festival Toilets.  The Festival Awards recognise a range of festivals ranging from Glastonbury to small family events such as Tribfest but the online poll allows responses to be weighted in line with ticket sales. The higher the percentage of votes from Tribfest fans the greater the opportunity of national recognition.

The Tribute festival is a very professional operation with the ability to take on board suggestions from the local residents and from the fans themselves. The growing success comes from finding new ways to improve the event and enhancing the festival by adding new activities, new features such as Comedy, Silent Disco and Tribbyaoke and taking note of fans suggestions or ideas from festivals elsewhere.

Event Director, Ed Faulkner welcomes the opportunity for the work of the Tribfest team to be recognised.

“We have developed a very talented and enthusiastic team over the past four years and an army of event volunteers. Whilst we would be grateful for national recognition any awards would recognise the work of the Tribfest team to develop a successful home grown festival here in East Yorkshire ”
