The November meeting of the East Yorkshire Flydressers’ Guild saw one of the very best fly-fishers in the world here in Beverley, it was none other than the much celebrated and very knowledgeable Charles Jardine.
Charles kept his audience mesmerised by talking and showing slides on the best ways of catching trout from small stillwaters. Charles’ years of fishing experience soon became apparent and Club members certainly left for home much more knowledgeable than when they first arrived! The evening was kept lively by Charles involving the audience and the audience asking Charles their numerous questions.
All this took place in the upstairs Function Room of the Rose and Crown Pub, Beverley, which made a perfect venue for the 35 fly-fishers who attended, despite it being a very wet and windy night!
In December we have another unmissable meeting when another fly-fisher of international renown, Steve Thornton, will be tying some of his lifelike flies.
