Local Beverley street dance school ‘Street Beatz’ recently entered their first ever street dance competition held in Bradford at the weekend.
The Regional competition ran by The United Dance Organisation had the highest amount of participants they have ever had despite the recent extreme weather conditions, with up to 42 competitors in some categories.
Entering the competition as newcomers, the club won several trophies ranging from 1st to 5th in solo’s, duo’s and teams. The Under 14’s team ‘SCRIBBLE’ came in 3rd whilst the Over 16’s team ‘UNISON’ took 1st place.
Coach, Clare Moran says “It was an excellent opportunity for the dancers to showcase their talent as there are no competitions locally which we can get involved in, as we are not a traditional dance school.”
“The competition was tough and there were some great dancers who we were competing against, but the hard work paid off and we are so pleased with our unexpected results.”
“It has given the kids a great experience which they will take away with them and has increased their confidence. We will now be working towards the National competition next year.”
Well done to all involved a credit to the Town!
