Festival of Christmas Given Green Light

Beverley Festival of Christmas

A big  effort from a number of East Riding of Yorkshire Council services has meant that, despite the recent dreadful weather, this year’s Festival of Christmas in Beverley has been given the all clear to go ahead as planned on Sunday, 12th December.

Festival committee chairman Councillor John Bird said: “I would like to thank the East Riding of Yorkshire Council for pulling out all the stops to ensure that the Festival, which is such a big day for Beverley, the East Riding and our local economy, can go ahead.”

The full programme of events is scheduled to take place, including Santa and his reindeer and the famous Victorian Christmas market.

The park and ride facility at Beverley racecourse will still run as planned, although its capacity has been slightly reduced because of the severe weather and deep lying snow.

People wishing to use the park and ride are advised to arrive early to avoid any disappointment.   The Festival of Christmas runs from 10am to 4pm.  All the council’s car parks will be open (and free) on the day.

Festival-goers should be mindful that it could still be very wet underfoot and wear suitable shoes/boots
