Humberside Police: Beverley Minster & Woodmansey Update for November 2010

Issue: Mintfields – Anti social Behaviour -There were no incidents reported in Mintfields during the month of November. There were a few incidents in neighbouring streets which are linked to ongoing investigations but nothing of particular concern to the local residents.  However, we are continuing to look at this area to ensure any anti social behaviour is dealt with promptly.

Issue: – Grovehill Road – Criminal Damage – There have again been no incidents of criminal damage reported on Grovehill Road during the month of November. There were however two thefts on the street where a silver Kaiser 125 motorbike was stolen from outside of number 62, this was found abandoned on Tan Dyke Way in Beverley. A Carerra racing bike was also stolen from outside number 67 Grovehill Road. Patrols will continue to check the area especially in the run up to Christmas where more staff will be on duty keeping an eye on those in high spirits.

Issue: Lincoln Way Estate – Anti Social Behaviour – Its just to good to be true but there were no recorded incidents in November which I find quite bizarre with the recent snow fall but it would appear that most have enjoyed the snow with being to much of a nuisance to others.

Offenders brought to justice – Three of our neighbourhood target offenders were dealt with during November as we continue to target those that want to cause damage and act anti socially on a regular basis.

One male juvenile was charged with three Section 5 Public Order Offences one took place near the Beverley bus station and two others were in Tescos on Morton Lane. He was also charged with possession of a Class B Drug.

A male juvenile was charged with four criminal damages that occurred on Cherry Tree Lane/Greenwood Avenue. He was also charged with a Section 4 Public Offence and assaulting a Constable.

A male juvenile has been charged with a Section 4 Public Order Offence, a Section 5 Public Order Offence and also Persistent Possession of Alcohol.

A female juvenile was charged with a Section 5 Public Order Offence.

A male juvenile was charged 3 criminal damage offences.

A male adult was charged with two shop thefts and also a criminal damage by way of graffiti.

News and Appeals

Its been a busy month during November as you will see from our offenders brought to justice. We have had a small group that have caused us issues for the last 6 months. We continue to fill court time with these individuals and will continue to do as these persistent offenders do not seem to learn from their actions or mind the increasing nights spent in our cells.  Anti Social Behaviour Orders have been applied for which will give us more power to deal with these young people who are blighting the lives of some residents in Beverley.

The weather has obviously caused us massive issues during the month as the snow has come early. Obviously our calls to service increase regarding kids snowballing and we ask people to be sensible with these calls as our resources are stretched to a maximum and we obviously have issues regarding in attending calls as we only have limited 4×4 vehicles.

Woodmansey Update

Around 22nd November 2010 copper cylinders were stolen from 76 Hull Road, Woodmansey. Just a reminder to people that thieves will continue to target scrap metal especially in the run up to Christmas as the market for such goods remain high.

If you see anything suspicious or you suspect someone is stealing then you should ring the police straight away.
