The Beverley Mohicans started in buoyant mood against a Hall Road Rangers side but playing against the strong wind in the first half with Louie Kelly and Dan Naldrett were snuffing out most attacks, it was left to Callum Ward to provide the driving force going forward.
Ward linked well Will Collingwood on the right and only last ditch tackles prevented the Mohicans from taking the lead. Jamie Spence made a couple of surging runs and following some great close control he had a shot which looked destined for the top corner until the tallest goalkeeper in the league just managed to pull off a fantastic save at full stretch.
Hall Road produced some fine football and only the strong tackles from Dan Naldrett and Will Woods kept them out. However, in the 18th minute following a super save from Mohicans keeper Charlie Brooks the ball was returned in to the area and found a forward who calmly finished.
The second half continued with Mohicans pressing but after Jamie Spence had another strong run and shot, Hall Road however broke downfield before doubling their advantage.
A minute later neat passing down the Mohicans right between Harry Stanforth and Will Collingwood resulted a cross by the former, Oliver Morrison made the faintest of touches to get it away from the fullback and to Bradley Nolan.
Nolan took great delight in scoring his first goal for the club giving Mohicans a big boost. Unfortunately they couldn’t capitalise on this and Hall Road scored again midway through the half.
The Mohicans continued to press and although they managed to get past the defence several times they couldn’t find their way past the keeper.
Man of the match was Callum Ward for his ball winning and non stop effort.
