Russell Bohling Missing for a Year

Officers investigating the disappearance of Russell Bohling are appealing for new information about his possible whereabouts a year after being reported missing.

Russell Bohling (19), from West Ella was last seen by his family on Tuesday 02 March 2010.

His car was later discovered at the car park at Bempton Cliffs.

Russell is described as white around 5ft 8ins tall with a medium build with short straight brown coloured hair.

Since Russell was reported missing Humberside Police has taken every step available to us to identify his whereabouts. This has included numerous CCTV enquiries and physical searches both inside and outside the force area. Land, sea and air searches have been carried out in conjunction with the coastguard, as well as specialist searches with the fire brigade at underground locations around Bempton Cliff.

In addition numerous regional appeals have been carried out along with a national television appeal broadcast on BBC1’s Crimewatch Roadshow.

However, despite all this activity, he has not been found.

Inspector Colin Waddington said: “A huge amount of police work has gone into the investigation to determine what happened to Russell Bohling and yet nothing at all has come to light that has assisted us in our inquiries.

“I urge the public to come forward if they know anything about Russell and his disappearance. If anyone saw anything of Russell a year ago, or spoke to him about his intentions at that time, please contact us and share with us what you know.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen Russell at Bempton Cliffs on Wednesday 03 March 2010.

“If anyone knows anything that can help us to find Russell, I would appeal to them to come forward.”

Anyone who knows his whereabouts is urged to contact police on 0845 60 60 222 quoting log 55 03/03/10.

  1. I have never commented before on this site but now want to put some misunderstandings right.

It is the police that have told us that Russell used an external device such as a memory stick via a usb port on his pc to access for the very first time information about the nuclear bunker. He did not download the information from the internet. He last looked at the plans of the bunker only half an hour before he left home for the last time. It is not known who gave him the information about the bunker.

The police have not found any other ex military sites in which Russell had an interest. The only non military point of interest about the bunker is the connection to the occult which is why we have spoken about it.

It is the police that told us that a maximum of 3.8 litres of fuel was used after Russell an I filled up the tank the night before he disappeared. They know this because at our request they emptied all the fuel from the tank and measured it. The police then refilled the tank to full and discovered that the difference was 3.8 litres. Subsequently the car was road tested using only 3.8 litres in the tank on the route taken by Russell and ran out of fuel 20 miles short of Bempton at Brandsburton. The whole road test was filmed.

People want to know why from the start we believed Russell is dead; well think about these questions.

If Russell intended to leave home why would he leave a car with nearly a full tank at an isolated place like Bempton? He could have driven to London after all he had the satnav. Isn’t Bempton an odd choice to start your journey from if you want to get away?

If you were planning to leave home would you leave £30 on your bedside table and then never use your debit card again ? Russell did.

If Russell was going to kill himself by jumping from the cliffs why bother to look at the plans of the nuclear bunker half an hour before disappearing?

If he killed himself in the bunker where is his body? The police have confirmed that it not there that is why they will not search it again.

We want to find out what happened to Russell and we won’t stop searching for that information. We hope people will now understand our attitude.
