Competitive Juices To Flow At Cherry Burton Village Show

Cherry Burton is preparing for one of the highlights of the social calendar – the 69th Village Show – which takes place at Cherry Burton C of E Primary School on Main Street on Saturday 23 July.

The show, organised by the Cherry Burton Village Produce Association and which runs from 2-4.30pm, pits vegetable growers, cake makers and preserves’ experts against each other in a host of classes that get the competitive juices flowing.

As well as the serious competition that takes place, the Village Show is also an occasion for the whole family to enjoy.

This year there will be a jazz band, magician, fun dog show, bouncy castle, stalls, strawberry cream tea and beer tents, as well as all of the produce classes to enter and exhibits to enjoy. One of the UK’s most respected singer-songwriters, Charlie Dore, will be presenting the prizes.

The full show schedule, with details of all classes, will be available from Costcutters Village Stores or The Bay Horse pub in the village from the beginning of July.

All exhibits for classes must be staged between 8am and 9.45am at the school on the day of the Show.

All entry forms must be received two weeks prior to the show. See schedule for more information.
