Quite A Thing Seeks To Maintain Unbeaten Record @ Beverley Races

Beverley’s two-day fixture starts on Friday night with a six-race card featuring a novice event for two-year-olds over five furlongs.

Although the race has attracted only four runners, it does include Quite A Thing, trained by Sir Mark Prescott, who looked very impressive on her first start at Lingfield when she won by no less than eight lengths.

Alenjandro, trained by Richard Fahey, looks the main threat and has run well in all four starts, but Quite A Thing will be a short price to maintain her unbeaten record.

There may be more value to be found in the handicaps where we may be able to find something at a more generous price.

Richard Guest has declared three of the eight runners in the Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire Pudding Handicap and could dominate the race if all three run.

Ted’s Brother has strong claims with Paul Hanagan in the saddle but could be tested by I Got You Babe who ran well at Hamilton on Tuesday and steps up in trip.

The final race on Friday is another handicap over one and a half miles and the seven year old Simple Jim is the selection in a tricky race.

Simple Jim has won an impressive 11 races in his career and, although his favourite track is Redcar, he could finish strongly up the hill at Beverley to record another success.
