Summer is in full swing now and typically British with intermittant showers, we’re into wedding season and have recently catered two small intimate weddings in the restuarant and also an invent at a great venue near Aldbrough the weekend just gone at West Carlton House set in great grounds with rooms.
It made for a really special wedding with the food and venue. During the day the guests were treated to a picnic with a joint of Local Honey Roasted Anna’s Happy Trotters Ham, including a chef’s hat, apron, carving knife & carving board. Each table nominates a chef to carve the ham and bread and serve salads.
It’s makes for a great social occasion. We also ran a fully licensed bar for the day and created a bespoke cocktail for the happy couple.
We’ve recently just catered at White Rose Polo Club for their annual Summit Media Cup the sixth event we have catered this year the theme was medievil so there was alot of meat at the evening party for 400 guests. At the restuarant we’ve recently updated the website, it now features pdf menus which are far easier to print off. We’ve added a new lunch menu and brunch menu.
The brunch menu now features a Full English Breakfast with a shot of Virgin Mary or OJ and unlimited Yorkshire Tea all for £7.45 served Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 11am until 1pm. The website now also features online instant booking which shows all times available and gives an instant confirmation. this is proving really convenient and an instant hit.
Our regular evenings continue with a few changes given below:
• Tuesdays – Yorkshire Grazing Boards ‘as recommended by BBC Countryfile Magazine’ two eat for £25 including 2 Glasses of House Wine choose 5 delicious dishes served with bread, salad & dips available Tuesdays ALL day & evening and Wednesday – Friday & Sunday until 7pm
• Wednesdays – Ultimate Night one ultimate dish added to the menu each week for the evening£8.95 changing weekly such as Manor Farm Beef Tagine, Yorkshire Fillet Stroganoff (small portion £8.95 larger portion £12.95), Hand Chopped Burger, Mousakka etc.
• Thursdays – Two Course set menu for £12 or Three Courses for £15 choose from delights such as Wild Mushroom Tart & Marinated Free-Range Chicken in Smoked Paprika and White Wine on Potatas Bravas (spiced potatoes) and of course you could have a Brownie Heaven Sundae with Homemade Vanilla all local Double Cream Ice-cream. Available everday until 7pm – and even later on Thursdays. (until 10pm)
• Fridays- Fresh Funky Fish Night – Specials such as Bridlington Crab, Monkfish with Samphire & King Prawns and Posh Fish & Chips with Halibut.
• Sundays – Roast Yorkshire Sirloin of Beef (cooked to your liking) with massive yorkies and our two day cooked gravy served all day and evening £12.95 alongside the Al Carte & Yorkshire Grazing Board Menus (from 12.30pm until late). We’re also including a smaller Sunday lunch with our 2 courses for £12 each Sunday.
In the last two months we’ve been recommended in the Lonely Planet guide to Great Britain, for our commitment to local produce and the duck cooked to perfection was recommended. We’ve just started serving Piri-Piri marinated duck on a bed of Sweet Roasted Potato.
