Over the weekend August 19th -21st not only will thousands of festival goers be making their way to the Tribfest Music Festival at Beverley Polo Club, Tickton but a range of acts will be coming from across Europe.
Tribfest is Europe’s largest Tribute music festival and over the festival weekend up to 45 tribute acts will be performing over a range of stages at the event. This includes tributes to Elton John; Take That, ABBA and the Prodigy who are established performers from the British Tribute music Scene.
What is new this year is the arrival of International acts in the shape of tributes to Eric Clapton, The Cure and Nirvana.
Claptomania featuring lead singer – Vladimir Avetissian are a Russian Tribute to Eric Clapton and are the first act performing at the festival on Friday 19th August over several years they have created their unique Eric Clapton sound. and have played at jazz festivals across Russia, France, Spain and Germany.
Not only does Vladimir Avetissian the singer of Russian band D’Black collect guitars of his hero but the bond with the musician crosses national boundaries “Eric Clapton – is the absolute music genius of our time, great guitarist and wonderful person, we are proud to play his music. It’s more than just a blues – it’s the attitude to life, it touches the heart and soul of every person. We have no interest in being just a look-alike outfit: the legendary music comes first – pure and simple. If you are a fan of Eric or just love blues music – you’ll absolutely love D’Black
Concura are an Italian tribute to the Cure who were formed in 2007 and have developing their act by performing ‘Cure Parties’ throughout Europe. They will be performing in the VIP stage on Saturday. Concura aim to be an International tribute band “After many years gigging in Italy we are now ready to bring our show across Europe and Tribfest is surely the best stage for Tribute Acts”
There will be the first ever tribute to Nirvana at this years festival in the shape of Hungarian tribute act Leaner. The bands have been together for three years and play the breadth of Europe churning out the Nirvana classics such as “Smells like Teen Spirit” or, “Come as You Are” “They will also be appearing on the VIP stage on Sunday

Event Director Ed Faulkner is excited by the international performers “Tribfest has developed massively over the past five years and such is growing reputation that I have been receiving enquiries from all over the world. Bands have contacted me from places such as Mexico, the USA and Europe and we have now reached a standard where are artists now wishing to travel throughout Europe to perform at this unique festival”
Tribfest tickets can be downloaded from www.tribfest.co.uk Festival tickets can be purchased online via Iris Ticketing Solutions a new agency for 2011 and prices range from £80 – £120 for Adult Weekend passes and £40 – £45 for Child passes.. Fans are able to bring either tents or caravans to the weekend and the festival facilities have earned Tribfest nominations for ’Best small music festival’ over the past three years.
