Miss Hull Galaxy Beauty Pageant Sponosred By The Fairy Godmothers

It was with great pleasure that The Fairy Godmothers sponsored  Miss Hull Galaxy beauty pageant.

Organiser Alex Birch, a beauty queen in her own right, organised a wonderful event, the first difficult job Alex and her team had, was whittling the hundreds of entries down to only 28 finalists.

These preliminary rounds included photographic rounds and interviews with all the girls.

The evening for the finalists was held at Willerby Manor Hotel on Sunday the 21st August .  Tickets were available for the general public as well as family and friends of the girls taking part.

It was a glittering event and all the finalists looked stunning. There were four rounds to the event, the first one was with the girls in their Miss Hull Galaxy T shirts and jeans for a casual look, this round helped the girls lose their nerves and settle down for the remaining three rounds, it was obvious from this round that the standard of beautiful girls was exceptionally high, making the judges job extremely difficult.

The second round was sponsored by Eyesite opticians who provided the girls with fantastic designer sunglasses for a sunny day look; each girl had the choice of fabulous and unique styles and designs.

The next round was with the girls in their take on party wear; the girls had chosen well and sported an array of fun party outfits. The fourth and final round was evening wear from The Fairy Godmothers, over the previous few weeks the girls have been visiting The Fairy Godmothers on Ladygate Beverley to choose their perfect dress and it has to be said they all looked stunning.

Beverley businesses were well represented too, along with The Fairy Godmothers and Eyesite Opticians were Glitterbug Wishes.

Owner Lisa Martin had sponsored one of the contestants who wore some of her beautiful handmade Jewellery on the catwalk; Lisa also had a trade stand to show the rest of her stunning collection.

The winner crowned at the end of the evening was Kelly Winter a Hairdresser from Hedon, who looked beautiful in her Gino Cerruti gown, in second place was Mary Mackereth from Swine and the third place was given to Becky Adamson from Hessle.

All of the girls did really well and the sense of camaraderie behind the scenes was wonderful to see, a prize was given for Miss Congeniality, deservedly  won by Lou Hamlet of Roos. Also given were prizes for the best evening dress, best smile and best hair.

Also sponsoring the event were Meadow Studios of Leven, they provided a mobile studio with a professional printing lab and also took reportage images of the girls in action on the stage and behind the scenes.
