Action from the cup match between Hodgsons FC an Haltemprice, it was an excellent win for Hodgsons FC who came 10-1 winners with goals from – J Dexter 3, B Daniels 1, P Silvester 2, C Heath 1, S Scott 1, C Robinson 1, D Atkinson 1. Into the hat for the 2nd round of the Senior Country Cup.
Hodgsons FC progressed to the second round of the Senior Country Cup after demolishing Haltemprice FC of Division 1 County League.
Hodgsons put ten goals passed a very weak Haltemprice side, with there only reply being a penalty after Stew Scott had brought down the Haltemprice forward. Stand in keeper Vinnie Fleming went the right way but couldn’t stop the spot kick. At this point the home side were already 5 nil up after goals from Paul Silvester, Ben Daniels, Stew Scott and Jordan Dexter 2.
Ten minutes into the second half John Helyard and Scott-Jon Tyler were given a rest with Adam Foster and Danny Atkinson taking their places. Within minutes of coming on, and both players first touch, Foster headed at goal and Atkinson blazed the re-bound over the bar to the amaze of the crowd. However, Atkinson had the last laugh when he fired home from the edge of the box following a corner. With still plenty of time remaining Pete Jude made his season debut for the hardworking Jordan Dexter who before coming off notched his 3rd goal and claimed the match ball.
The goal of the game came from full back Chris Robinson, who blasted a left foot screamer into the top right hand corner of the net from all of 30 plus yards. Goals 9 and 10 came from captain Paul Silvester and the energetic Chris Heath.
This Saturday Hodgsons travel to North Cave in the 1st round of the Senior League Cup. Man of the match – Jordan Dexter
