Greyston Wins Inaugural NURSE Charity Open

Around sixty local darts players came together at the Beverley Conservative Club taking a part in a fund raiser for the N.U.R.S.E. Charity.

The event which was organised by Stuart Hall and Scott Clark raised over £200 for the charity.

HU17.net darts favourite Terry Jackson was dumped out of the competition in the third round. Jackson was beaten 2 – 1 by Phil Stebbens who made it through the last eight before he himself was knocked out.

David Price, landlord of the Beaver Pub and keen darts player also had a horrid time as he failed to progress from the first round.

In close final it was Ian Greyston who won the title beating Mally Hunt 3 – 2in the final. Greyston making a return to dart after break collect the 24 carat synthetic trophy and cash prize.

It was the first time a darts night had been held at the Conservative Club and it is hoped that the completion will now become an annual affair.

This special event was only made possible by a gap in fixtures and organisers were very pleased with the turn and level of competition.
