Local running group Run In Beverley have followed up their successful performances at the Beverley 10k event by fielding 5 runners in the recent Walkington 10k race.
Despite very muddy conditions at the end of the course, all five runners were pleased to complete the race quicker than their predicted times.
First home was Claire Robinson, in a time of 48:48, a personal best over the 10k distance. Next was Emma Marshall, whose time of 52:45 reflected the fact that she was still recovering from an excellent run in the Humber Bridge Half Marathon.
Joanne Brooks and Julia Petty then came in within seconds of each other, both delighted at managing to complete the challenging course in under an hour.
Beryl Bradley was the final member of the group to complete the race, with her time of just over an hour helped by her strong sprint finish in the final straight.
Run in Beverley are an informal ladies running group that meets in the café area of Beverley Leisure Centre at 7pm every Thursday evening. New runners are always welcome, just join us on a Thursday.
