In a massive team effort, the young Beverley Braves came from two tries down to tie against the Tigers in a thrilling game that they can count themselves extremely unlucky not to have emerged victorious from.
The rugby league on display from Beverley was nothing short of excellent for under nines with sweeping passing movements a pleasure to watch and some bone crunching defence, which had the crowd wincing at times, move over Greg Inglis.
Despite giving away a lot of size, as in pretty much every game this season, the young Beverley side flung themselves at their opponent’s time and time again in easily their best performance of the season.
It was very much a collective effort with huge performances across the park with too many names to mention all of them, but Josh Hamlyn and Owen Miller deserve special praise, Will Cohen scored two super tries; Rhys Wallan was top tackler, and Isaac Merryweather sneaked the man of the match with a typical bustling display.
Lofty standards to maintain.
