Beverley Town slipped into second place in the Humber Premier League after being held at home by Chalk Lane.
Chalk Lane took the lead at the Norwood Recreation Ground which was cancelled by a Rob Northen Penalty as the first half ended all square at 1-1.
In the second half Chalk Lane retook the lead, the linesman gave the goal offside, but he was over ruled by match referee Sean Barber. But yet again Rob Northen showed his class and came up with an all-important equaliser.
Manager Dave Ricardo said after the game;
“We played with a hangover from last week. However, we showed good character to come from behind twice.”
“A massive result is needed next week in our home match versus North Cave.”
Town remain unbeaten in the league and are level on points with the top club Sculcoates Amateurs. North Cave has played one more game then Town but are just two points behind the Beverley Town and win for them would bring them right back into the title race.
Beverley Town have beaten Cave in both their encounters so far this season and will be looking to continuing that record and try to regain top spot in the Humber Premier League.
