The Walking and Climbing Company, based in East Yorkshire, is running a trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal from OCTOBER 6th to 23rd 2013 in aid of Save the Children.
Save the Children are in safe hands with The Walking and Climbing Company; established in 1999 and an experienced and professional organiser of trekking and climbing expeditions in Nepal.
Kalsang Sherpa will be leading this trek and is an Everest mountaineer from this region of the Himalayas who currently lives in Bishop Burton near Beverley with Susie Sherpa-Baer his wife and the other company director.
The purpose of this event is to complete a fun and challenging trek and raise funds for this great charity that makes a significant difference in the world.
This famous trek is a great achievement for the keen walker and is a once in a life time adventure! In October it will be warm and sunny and you will trek though the mountain villages along well worn trails. The scenery is incredible with snow topped mountains as far as the eye can see; you are after all, seeing the highest mountain range in the world.
“Save the Children want to wish the Walking and Climbing Company the best of luck with their Everest Base Camp trek. We’re excited that we’ll have a group intrepid trekkers experiencing the world’s highest mountain and raising money in aid of our work in the world’s poorest countries, and look forward to hearing their stories.”
The trip’s target is to raise at least £30,000 for this great charity. Walkers are invited to come and join in this once in a life time adventure.
The cost of the trip is £1750 per person and people are asked to fundraise a minimum of £1500. For those who book before March 1, the minimum fundraising target will be lowered to £1000.
