Beverley Town Beat Rangers To Remain Top Of HPL

Beverley Town Football Club remain one point clear at the top of the Humber Premier League after they beat Hessle Rangers 3 -0 at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Town took the lead mid-way through the first-half thanks to a goal from new singing Danny Bunch.

In the second half, Craig Muirhead added the second before Michael O’connell scored the third from a free kick.

Gaffer David Ricardo told HU17.net after the match;

“The result last night pleased me due to the fact we could play two new signings in Danny Bunch and Tom Bennett, who immediately settled in.”

“I was really impressed with both players and the way the lads made them feel at home. The work ethic in the second half was second to none.”

“I was also like to thank all the supporters who have come to both the home fixtures so far this season. In total there have been nearly 200 spectators down, which is a great help to the players.”

The win keeps Beverley a point clear of North Cave who have a game in hand. The two sides meet this Saturday in the Humber Premier League.

When asked about the big match Ricardo said;

“Saturday is a massive game, both fixtures last year were closely fought. It may not be a must-win game so early in the season but with our team, I do expect to win this match.”
