East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Galliford Try Ltd are delighted to bring a further update on the progress being made on the highway maintenance works in Saturday Market, Beverley.
Work has started on the primary Saturday Market area, which involves the installation of drainage and ducting and will be completed shortly. Excavation and paving to phase 15, which is the north half of the market square, started on 16th February and is anticipated to take roughly four weeks to complete.
Whilst this phase is in progress access to Ladygate will be via Dog and Duck Lane. Work is also continuing to relay the stone setts. Dave Waudby, head of infrastructure and facilities, said:
“As throughout the project, the council and its contractor attempt to keep disruption to businesses and the general public to a minimum. We very much appreciate and value their continued support and cooperation while the improvements are being carried out.”
“Work to business thresholds will be undertaken outside of normal working hours, again with the aim of reducing any disruption.”
“Good progress is being made on this important maintenance scheme, which is anticipated to be concluded by the spring.”
Residents can contact the site office should they have any queries or concerns regarding any aspect of the scheme.
