Saturday 1st March saw the 3rd annual Golden Fleece Circuit, an off-road race organised by South Cave Scouts.
Runners have the option of a 27 mile route or a “short” 15 miles.
This year conditions under foot were good, however a fairly heavy fog made for difficult breathing during the first hour of the race.
The long route was jointly won for the second year running by Matty Hayes and Mike Hargreaves of East Hull Harriers in a very impressive 3 hours 13 minutes.
The short was won for the 3rd year in a row by Nicholas Riggs of Beverley AC in 1 hour 44 minutes. This was his 6th off road race victory in a row, previously having also won the renowned Rudolph’s Romp and Hell on the Humber.
Jackie Hardman, also of Beverley AC ran the long route.
