Beverley Town Football Club are just one point away from securing their second consecutive Humber Premier League title.
Town moved three points clear at the top of the league after they beat St Andrews 3 – 1 and now look odds onto to retain their title next weekend.
Manager Dave Ricardo told HU17.net;
“We were very poor in the first half and St Andrews deserved the lead. In the second half we raised our game and went on to win it comfortably.”
St Andrews took the lead but second half strikes from Daniel Norton, Michael O’Connell and Andrew Stott completed the come back to secure all three points for Town.
With just three games remaining Reckitts AFC will need miracle to knock Beverley off the top something which is highly unlikely.
Ricardo added;
“Saturday may not have been our best performance but we got the job done. Right now all of us at the club are focused on getting the results and points we need to be champions.”
Beverley will look to clinch the title away to Crown FC a side that beat back in September at Norwood thanks to goals from O’Connell, Daniel Kingsly Jnr and Dane Mortimer.
Manager Ricardo feels that Beverley have enough in their locker to overcome Crown FC he said;
“Crown are a decent side but I am confident we will get the final part of the job done and by the end of the game on Saturday will be champions.”
Final Score: St Andrews 1 Beverley Town 3
