Students at East Riding College are learning about the advantages of volunteering at events.
Volunteer fairs have being held at the Beverley and Bridlington campuses, with a selection of organisations attending to highlight possibilities to learners.
This includes the British Heart Foundation, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Macmillan Cancer Support, National Citizen Service, Bridlington Lions, the Scouts, International Services and Health Watch.
Enrichment officer Tracy Underwood, who organised the fairs, said: “Volunteering has always been a great thing to do to help charities and your local communities but in recent years it has become important in others ways.
“More and more employers and universities expect to see this kind of activity on your CV or university application too so we are very keen to encourage it.
“We also have a range of guest speakers from local volunteer agencies who regularly visit and meet with students to explain the values and skills gained by helping out.”
