Beverley Town Cricket Club Ladies edged to victory as they beat Bardsey CC at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Louise Todd returning to the side for the first time since becoming mother lasted just five balls before she went for a duck.
Beverley’s star performer was the skipper Sarah McDowell, who scored an unbeaten 64 as Beverley set the visitors a target of 191 for the loss of just three wickets.
Good early wickets from the home side gave Beverley the momentum in the opening stages of the second innings, but Bardsey battled back into the game but could not get the required runs.
Beverley’s Hannah McCoid said after the game;
“What a fantastic game of cricket that was! Well played everyone, great effort!”
