James Cowton excelled on his Ulster Grand Prix debut. Top 15 finish in superstock race was followed by lightweight race victory on Pete Berwick’s TZ250 Yamaha after a great performance throughout.
Supersport race would prove to be a highly productive one for James with 5th place finish on his own teams CBR 600 Honda.
Super twin race and second podium finish of the day was recorded with third position on Stewart Smith racing ER6 Kawasaki. Plus the Dundrod 150 was a memorable one for James with victory in challenge race and then Dundrod 150 lightweight win was achieved after a good battle with Neil Kernohan.
James currently holds second position in Duke road race rankings championship and there’s every chance the talented rider could secure victory in this prestigious championship this year. Next road race on the horizon for joint winner of Ulster Grand Prix newcomers award is classic TT races where he will be looking for more success around the mountain course.
