Today 27 year-old Luke Reginald Allen of Manston Garth, Hull was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Mr Allen also asked for a further 19 burglary offences to be taken into account after he admitted being responsible for the incidents.
He committed burglary offences in Beverley, Leconfield, Tickton, Driffield, Cottingham, Halsham, Hull, Walkington and an incident in Blackpool.
Detective Inspector Matt Peach at Beverley CID said:
“My officers have worked very hard to ensure that the unusually high amount of burglaries the East Riding suffered during the months of June, and July were solved. During this time, Luke Allen committed a significant amount of offences in the East Riding and the surrounding areas and I am pleased, he has been put before the courts and dealt with expeditiously.
“After his arrest Mr Allen has fully co-operated with the police enquiries and appeared to understand the importance of admitting his wrong doings. Although he cannot be forgiven for the effect he has had on many householders and the wider community, I am sure his subsequent admissions of further offences will hopefully assist in giving some closure to the victims whom the burglar who broke into their house is now imprisoned.”
