We Are Happy To Review Customer Parking Tickets - Say Asda

Asda have responded to concerns raised by HU17.net regarding how the car park is being managed at their Beverley store after the Smart Parking system proved not to be so smart.

A new Smart Parking system has been installed though due to some issues customers of the super market giant are finding themselves getting parking tickets through the post despite doing nothing wrong.

Smart Park a camera system that tracks cars in and out of their car park in not always picking up cars as, they leave so customers who are visiting twice a day leading the ‘Smart Park’ system to issue parking fines.

An Asda spokes person told HU17.net;

“We know that being able to park quickly and safely is one of our customer’s top priorities when visiting our stores.”

“Our parking cameras are there to help keep spaces free for customers that use our store and the last thing we would want to do is cause any distress or concern for customers.”

“When our customers have a genuine reason for being in our car parks, we are happy to review customer’s tickets on a case by case basis.”

“The General Store Manager is happy to speak to customers who have any concerns, and he can look at cancelling the charges if they have been issued wrongly.”

In the meantime, until this issue is resolved we would advise anyone using the store on Norwood to keep a track of their visits as if you go more than once in a day it is could end up with you being issued with a parking fine.
