Farthing’s To Pay For Shoppers Parking In Beverley

Farthing’s To Pay For Shoppers Parking In Beverley

Farthing’s Steak Emporium is tackling the cost of parking head on by offering visitors to the town centre a refund on their parking ticket.

Adam Farthing said he got the idea after reading an article on HU17.net regarding parking and how it was putting people off visiting the town centre.

He said;

“Until Christmas Eve this year, we are looking to help people out in the build up to Christmas. We are going to do this by refunding  the cost of the parking ticket fee for Saturday Market and North Bar within.”

“All shoppers have to do is pop into Farthing’s for a coffee, a quick drink or a bite to eat and the cost of parking in these two parking locations will be discounted from your final bill.”

Parking in Beverley costs from 80p up to £3 depending on how you long you stay. A recent increase in the number of tickets issued by traffic wardens in the Town has led to people staying away.

Adam added;

“All we ask is you come in and make a purchase, be it a tea, coffee or a beer. You can even show us a picture of a current ticket on your phone or bring in an old ticket from previous visit to Beverley, it’s that simple.”

Adam has not ruled out extending the scheme past Christmas Eve and has already had some positive feedback about his idea.  He said;

“If this turns out to be beneficial to visitors, and also to my business, then we will see how we can make this a more permanent arrangement.”

“To be fair, I am surprised no one else has done this already.  Since making the announcement other shop keepers have commented saying it’s a good idea.”

Shoppers and visitors to Beverley have until Christmas to take up this kind gesture by Farthing’s Steak Emporium to refund them the cost of their parking.
