Don’t miss your opportunity to enter the Capturing the East Riding Photography Competition, which closes at midnight on Friday, 12 December 2014.
All amateur photographers are invited to submit up to four photos which best fit in with this year’s theme – @Work, Rest and Play – Capturing Life in the East Riding. We have received over 200 entries so far, all of which can be viewed on our Flickr site at www.flickr.com/photos/east-riding/. However, we would like to see more of your impressions of what life in the East Riding is like.
Everyone who enters the competition will have the chance to win one of our great prizes. Our judges will also select the top 100 photographs, which will displayed at the Beverley Art Gallery, Goole Museum, Pocklington Arts Centre and The Spa Gallery, Bridlington, in 2015-16.
Councillor Richard Burton, portfolio holder for civic wellbeing and culture at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “We have received a fascinating range of entries so far. It is interesting to see how people are interpreting our theme, @Work, Rest and Play. The selection shows just how creative you can be with a camera.”
Hilary Saynor, chair of the East Riding Cultural Partnership, said:
“Entries are being submitted by people of all ages and from across the local area. This is the point of the competition – to give everyone the chance to share with us their unique impressions of what living in the East Riding is all about.”
