Ed Grady says he is disappointed after Beverley Town Reserves crashed out of the Senior Cup at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Beverley slumped to a 3-1 defeat with all four goals coming in the second half as Park Athletic cruised into the semi finals.
Alex Bishop opened the scoring for the visitors, two more goals were to follow from Calum O’Connor and Matty Carter. Town did get a consolation late on through their hit man Alex Stark but it was too little too late.
Speaking to HU17.net after the game Grady said;
“I am very disappointed to go out of the cup in the quarter final. This is one of the competitions we should be looking to win.”
“I felt we played very well in the first half but our second half we were not good enough, we got what we deserved, nothing.”
Park Athletic manager James Lee Better said;
“The difference between the sides today was that we took our chances. This was a difficult game on a difficult pitch but with a couple of good moments in the we were able to get the result.”
“At 3-0 I would have said the score did not reflect the game but Town got a back which was a better reflection on match.”
Elsewhere it was another bad day for Hull United Reserves as they were knocked out of a cup for the second time in as many weeks going down 3-2 to Eddie Beadle.
Wawne United Reserves also made it through to the semi finals with a 2-1 win over St George’s. The Lord Nelson remain the only club flying the flag for Beverley with just North Ferriby United standing between them and a semi final place.
Grady will now be hoping his side can bounce back next weekend when they return to East Riding County League action.
Town hit the road as they take on Driffield Rangers who are currently bottom of the table with just 7 points.
