I met this lady earlier in the week while taking a tour of Flemingate construction site.
She takes her son to watch the diggers and plant working on the Flemingate Project. It seems some kind construction workers noticed that she visits and did something for them, they arranged for her and her son to go round on the tour on Friday afternoon.
I saw them again today, watching the diggers in their usual spot. She told me his favourites are the JCB style diggers and the Rolling machines, while they loved the tour they were hoping to get a bit closer to some of the plant working on the site.
Today they were back again watching the work take place, the lad had his toy diggers with him, it kind of puts life in perspective a bit.
The second photo I took while walking to one of my jobs. I can only assume he is a local man who lives nearby or who was visiting relatives in the area.
I would love to have known what he was thinking when he stopped to look at the construction site and assuming he was local the stories he could tell about life before the new Flemingate development.
What a lovely picture and article, Paul! It was nice meeting you. P.
Like wise I still have some shots from the tour to get online – I am sadly about two weeks behind on my work but hav been getting up a bit earlier to try and clear the back log 🙂 – When I get them live I will try to drop you a line 🙂
Thanks. You’re doing a great job with the HU17 magazine!
