Beverley Musical Theatre will be putting on their famous annual pantomime at Beverley Memorial Hall.
This year’s production will see the Beverley Musical Theatre put on Jack and the Beanstalk.
The story is about Jack, a young boy living with his mother and a cow that is their only source of income. When the cow stops giving milk, Jack’s mother has told Jack take the cow to the market to be sold.
On the way, he meets an old man who offers “magic beans” in exchange for the cow and Jack makes the trade. When he arrives home without any money, his mother becomes furious, throws the beans on the ground and sends Jack to bed.
A gigantic beanstalk grows overnight which Jack climbs to a land high in the sky. There he comes to a house or a castle that is the home of a giant.
Beverley Musical Theatre are also on the lookout for people in the community who like to get more involved and are keen to hear from those who would like to audition for parts.
Alison White from the Beverley Musical Theatre said;
“First rehearsal for the show is Wednesday 9th September in Beverley. Anyone who has ever wanted to get involved with their your local musical theatre group, now is their chance.”
“The production team is always needing expertise in backstage, costumes, scenery, music. Anyone over 16 that would like to audition to be in the show then it is just visit our web site.”
Tickets for the production are available now from Beverley Music Centre for the production that take place from 2ND to 6TH December.
Alison added;
“There will also be a giant annual jumble sale on Saturday 28th November at 12 noon at the Memorial Hall where you can see the pantomime scenery being set and meet the cast, it is just 50p entry.”
