Littlefield Scores Twice As Town Draw With Reckitts

Beverley Town Football Club earned an unlikely point as Matthew Littlefield scored twice in their 2-2 draw with Reckitts.

It was an all-round solid performance by Beverley, who took a deserved point from their visitors.

Strong winds made for tricky conditions though both sides adapted well.

Reckitts took the lead when Ben Thompson gave away possession, and the visitors worked the ball well to score.

Town responded well and levelled on 35 minutes when Littlefield turned well on the edge of the box and fired into the bottom corner.

Five minutes later, Town went ahead through a Littlefield penalty after Shaun Day was tripped in the box.

In the second half, both sides had chances with Town’s keeper, Luke Cotton saving well on a number of occasions.

After Reckitts had levelled, Nathan White had a great chance to put town ahead again, but his shot was comfortably saved.

The game was kindly sponsored by Richard Sutton (Bathroom Designers) and they chose Town’s centre half Daniel McHale as their man of the match.

The point sees Beverley remain in ninth place in the Humber Premier League.

With two fixtures they can win coming up, there is a real chance to close the gap on sides above them in the table.

This Saturday town travel away to face Hedon Rangers in the Humber Premier League.

Final Score: Beverley Town Football Club 2 Reckitts AFC 2
