Beverley Town Target Top Spot

Beverley Town will host Pocklington Town at the Norwood Recreation Ground this weekend. Beverley Town could end the day top of the Humber Premier League should results go their way and they are able to secure a much needed win.

In the reverse fixture it was Beverley Town who took all the points winning 2 – 0 on the road though since that game back in October Beverley Town have suffered a long lay off through poor weather and have struggled to regain the form they showed.

Table Toppers Ricketts AFC have also been hit and miss picking up just 1 point out of a possible six though they will fancy their chances at bottom of the table St Andrews FC.

Second place Sculcoates Amateurs are in the best form of the top three picking 16 points from a possible 18 and loosing just one of the last eight games, beaten 1 – 0 by Beverley Town, there is little to choose between the sides though Beverley Town do have a game in hand on their rivals.

A win on Saturday for Beverley Town will at the very put them in a strong position to challenge for top spot in two weeks time as current league leaders Ricketts AFC and fourth place side Hornsea Town will travel to the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Another clean sheet against Pocklington will be the order of the day for Beverley Town’s backline
