Pictures from celebrations that took place in Beverley to mark the 600th anniversary of the historic North Bar. Hundreds of people took to the streets to enjoy a day that started at 10am with a parade from Beverley Minster through the town and ending at North Bar. The day continued with activities and performances until 5.30. North Bar’s gates were closed throughout the celebrations to allow people to safely enjoy plays, re-enactments and music in the North Bar Within area. With the medieval village in the Coronation Gardens, and many people dressed in period costumes, it was only the traffic lights running through their sequence that reminded us we were not in 1409!
