The blue and golds will return action with a pre-season friendly at home to Scarborough Pirates this Saturday.
It will be a side that they will meet on at least another two occasions this season as the Premier Division line-up of sides has been slightly amended from last weeks original draft.
It has been a tough task for league bosses accommodating all the requests from sides in all six divisions. However, the Premier Division will now line up as: Beverley, Doncaster Toll Bar, Mirfield, Sharlston, Scarborough, Norland, Hull Wyke, Illingworth, York Acorn’A’, Siddal ‘A’.
From Beverley’s point of view, they will still have their two ‘derbies’ against Hull Wyke and Norland and two relatively short trips to Scarborough and York Acorn.
Meanwhile, Beverley has learnt that two of their players Jack Howdle and Lewis Poskitt have been selected to play in a Yorkshire League select side that will play two matches in Serbia on a tour in June. It is pleasing that these two players performances last season have not gone unnoticed.
It has been a long time since last September when the players last saw action and there will be some thick cobwebs to blow away. Getting some game time under their belts will be as important as any result.
Saturdays kick off is 2.30pm at the Beverley Leisure Centre.
