Cherry Burton Pre-school received a much-needed boost to its fundraising this week when it received a cheque for £500 from local firm Informed Financial Planning (IFP).
Managing Director of IFP, Kevin Ferriby was delighted to support this local Pre-school.
He said,
“IFP is really pleased to be sponsoring Cherry Burton Pre-school. We are really committed to our work in the community, supporting local and national charities that do such amazing work. Cherry Burton Pre-school is no exception and we are very proud to be associated with this excellent Pre-school, which has an outstanding reputation in the local area.”
This Yorkshire-based firm, with offices in Hull, Leeds and Barnsley is a leading firm of Chartered Financial Planners, with an enviable reputation for its commitment to offering expert advice and a personal service to all its customers.
IFP specialises in a number of financial planning aspects such as retirement planning, investment advice, protection and estate planning and in February 2014 was presented with the Professional Adviser ‘North East Adviser Firm of the Year’ award. They are now consecutive winners of this award after receiving the accolade once again in February 2015 and were one of five shortlisted for the ‘STEP Financial Adviser Team of Year UK’ award.
This firm is also committed to supporting charities and good causes and each year holds a prize draw for charities nominated by their staff. This year Cherry Burton Pre-school was the lucky winner.
Claire Newton, Pre-school Manager, was overwhelmed by the generosity of IFP. She told us: “This means so much to all of us here at Cherry Burton Pre-school. I couldn’t believe it when I heard the news that we had won the prize draw. This means we are well on our way to reaching our fundraising target this year. We are so grateful to Kevin and his staff for their support.”
Sally Granger is Chair of the Pre-school Committee, and she explained how the Pre-school plans to spend the money:
“Through this support, we will be able to offer enriching activities as part of the curriculum here at Pre-school, such as the Debutots sessions. Debutots is a really unique way of developing children’s literacy, communications skills and confidence through storytelling and drama. We can now offer these sessions free to our children for the rest of the year as a result of this money. We are also planning to replace sand and water trays in the outdoor area to make it much more interesting for children. Without the support of IFP this wouldn’t have been possible.”
Cherry Burton Pre-school is hoping to raise £3,000 this year to support and develop its curriculum, and to replace toys and equipment. The Pre-school welcomes any offers of support from other local businesses who want to support early years education in the region.
Cherry Burton Pre-School currently has a limited number of places available for children aged 2 ½ – 5 years old. To find out more about this or about the exciting curriculum on offer, call 07772 174178 or visit www.cherryburtonpreschool.co.uk.
