ERT’s “The Night Season”: Astonishing, Beautifully Conceived, Staged and Acted

Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s award winning play “The Night Season”, (originally staged at the National Theatre in London), opened at Beverley’s East Riding Theatre on March 2nd and runs until Saturday 25th of March.

It is a personal favourite of the theatre’s new artistic director Adrian Rawlins, making his directorial debut at the ERT in this astonishing and beautifully conceived, staged and acted production.

Richard Durrant Brings Stringhenge To Beverley

Richard Durrant will be making a welcome return to Beverley on Thursday 30 March, 2017, at 7.30pm, for an evening of Richard’s latest musical adventure, in Toll Gavel United Church.

Richard’s latest musical adventure will feature the Uffington Tenor Guitar, built by Ian Chisholm in Suffolk, and a six -string concert guitar built by Gary Southwell in Lincolnshire and made from 5000 year old bog oak.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the Treasure House in Beverley – is proving so popular that is to be opened additionally on three Sundays in March.

A first major event as part of Hull UK City of Culture 2017, the free exhibition is currently open Mondays to Saturdays in the Treasure House until 22 April, and features 100 awe-inspiring images, from fascinating animal behaviour to breathtaking wild landscapes.

Beverley’s Japanese restaurant Ogino was established in March 2012 by husband and wife team Julian & Rieko Ogino-Stamford.

It was a brainchild born out of love and disaster. The couple’s paths collided online in 2008 and friendship soon bloomed into love, culminating in a traditional Japanese wedding in Toyokawa in 2012.

East Riding Theatre’s new artistic director, Adrian Rawlins, is to make his directorial debut at the theatre with The Night Season by Rebecca Lenkiewicz which opens in March.

Rawlins, an actor on stage and screen for 30 years, (Harry Potter, Dickensian, War and Peace) has recently taken over as artistic director at ERT and launched a programme for the year which promises to be uplifting and life-affirming.

The world-renowned Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, on loan from the Natural History Museum in London, will open at Beverley Art Gallery in The Treasure House in Beverley on Saturday 11 February, featuring 100 awe-inspiring images, from fascinating animal behaviour to breathtaking wild landscapes.

It is one of the East Riding’s major events as part of Hull UK City of Culture 2017, in which East Riding of Yorkshire Council is a principal partner.
