Beverley was alive this Saturday; a busy and very colourful Saturday Market was enjoyed by many people. Yesterday the skies were clear over Beverley and it made for some great views from a light aircraft which circled Beverley allowing us to get some fantastic images of landmarks like the Beverley Minster, St Mary’s Church, Beverley Westwood and more. Obviously, things like the Beverley Minster stand out though what is also very evident from the sky is the massive scare on the surface, the Flemingate development. From the…

Visitors to Beverley’s Wednesday Market enjoyed the continental life on a beautiful Saturday in the town. As the temperatures soared and summer finally reared its head, shoppers made the most of the conditions and took time out to relax. The chairs and tables outside the Queen’s Head, Fusion and Range were packed with people enjoying a beer, glass of wine or just a cup of coffee as they happily watched…

Pictures from yesterday evening at the Beverley Leisure Centre, votes for the Beverley & Holderness constituency were counted as the Election finally came to an end. The ballot boxes started to arrive just after 10pm though a long process followed of sorting counting and recounting in order to declare a winner. Given all the technology in the world these days this process seemed very long and drawn out. With any…

Yesterday evening what I set out to cover never materialised though I did meet a local man called Paddy Sweeney on Toll Gavel. Paddy is a retired vet and has great dog called Charlie. He has been in Beverley for a around 3 years now and said his dog gets a lot of attention. He asked if I would put the pictures on the web site for him.
The Judges Tower at Beverley Racecourse has without question the best view of the of the finishing line, and it needs to as this is where all the information is gathered for those too close to call photo finishes. Racetech engineer John Stephens who operated the photo finish equipment yesterday showed just how sensitive the camera was to movement. A slight vibration was enough to cause distortion to the picture…
Conservative candidate for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart, today publicly pledged to fight for compensation to be paid to those affected by the Equitable Life pension collapse. Equitable Life got into trouble when the House of Lords ordered it to meet £1.5 billion of expensive guarantees it had made to some of its annuity policyholders. More than a million people are estimated to have lost more than £4 billion as…

Beverley was busy today and the great weather was enjoyed by both the young and the old. Charley was out with her parents Ashley and Chris East, Postman Dave who we featured on HU17.net in ‘Postman Dave Gets the Job Done’ had a bike that was not clogged up with snow! Cllr Matt Snowden was returning from a meeting and being his usual cheery self…..

The Beverley Westwood due to the poor weather resembled the Lake District though this did not put people off from playing golf! Despite the standing water that in places was too deep to walk through golfers still continued to play on ten of the holes which remained open. The crater was completely filled with water and some dogs seemed to like the change and were more then happy to dive…
Snow returned to Beverley again this morning, while some of the people in the town will welcome the snow back others are left frustrated with all sporting fixtures being cancelled throughout the town. These pictures were taken this morning around Beverley Minster and by the Beverley Beck where some lucky ducks got a snack from a chap prepared to brave the cold. It is a common sight to see model planes and helicopters being flown on the Beverley Westwood. Andy Wilson from Manchester is one of those guys you see up by Beverley Racecourse flying his plane
